Excellent customer service when things go wrong
Bought an aircon unit from Peter Tyson. Ordering process was easy and they shipped promptly.

When it arrived my initial thought was it had already been opened or previously used. However upon inspection owing to the odd way these things are packaged, the box isn’t a sealed box it is held together with straps which you take them off and the box slides up and off of it. It appeared that somewhere along the way the straps had come off and a few parts/accessories had gone missing, and the box was held together by one strap loosely on.

Anyway after initially asking if they’d sent a used one but on further investigation realising it must have been a shipping issue, they were very responsive to emails to sort it out. Emails were returned with minutes, and they were very fast to find a resolution for me.

Things don’t always go right first time, but the speed with which the staff at Peter tyson responded to my emails and found a resolution was very impressive. I felt taken care of and that they are a safe pair of hands to make large purchases from.

Ultimately they resolved an issue for me that wasn’t of their making, very fast and with good customer service.

I’ll certainly use Peter tyson again in future for more large purchases, I can’t really give them enough praise for how fast and efficient they are at taking care of customers.

Great customer experience
Have bought several products from Peter Tyson - a few TVs and a few appliances for the kitchen. Staff are excellent every time, friendly with great knowledge of what they're selling and at competitive prices

Faulty goods problem was resolved very quickly.
My online order was delivered very quickly, but unfortunately the Denon CD/Tuner amp would not recognise any type of CD as being present when played.
Luke on Peter Tyson support took my phone call and with no fuss arranged for a replacement to be sent and for the collection of the returned faulty item.
The replacement arrived promptly and the exchange was efficiently handled by DPD.
The replacement worked fine and I am very pleased with the unit and particularly with the Peter Tyson support service, which is just what you want when these problems arise.
I would recommend Peter Tyson as a retailer.

Just be careful about buying from Peter…
Just be careful about buying from Peter Tyson online or through another retailer (eBay or Amazon etc). I purchased a Sonos Beam, Black in 2019 from eBay. It was advertised as having a 5 year guarantee and was on offer during the time. It was a great buy and I was extremely happy (having owned Sonos products before).

On Oct 2021, I was having intermittent issues so I contacted them to be told that the guarantee is 2 years. I disputed this. eBay got involved and provided me with the product description when it was purchased that stated 5 years. I gave this to them and was told my order details had been updated. I spoke to Sonos about the intermittent issues and had to determine if it was faulty. Anyway the issue I had was resolved by doing a reset and talking to Sonos who assured me the fault was not the product and issue was down to the video applications (Netflix etc).

This month (July 2022), the intermittent issue came back, I took videos of it, done a diagnostic etc and went to Sonos. While I waited for Sonos to reply back, I emailed Peter Tyson customer service, again went through same thing. Them telling me its out of guarantee period etc. I sent the videos of the fault and the old email where previously said there would update my order. I was told to return the Sonos Beam at a cost to myself to get assessed, I was fine with this. I told them issue was intermittent.

Peter Tyson advised item would be tested 40 hours and returned at a charge of £10 if a fault can't be determined (surely I wouldn't be sending it back for the fun of it). I advised I would speak to Sonos first and hear back from them before I go ahead and send it. Sonos assessed the videos etc and determined the AMP for faulty, Sonos could not repair and advised replacement was needed however it was our of the Sonos 2 year guarantee. I went back to Peter Tyson and sent them the Sonos case number alongside he transcript of the conversation. I was told that it still needs to be sent back.

The communication from them felt dismissive and I don't think there were wanting to help in anyway so I went back to Sonos argued the fact issue was reported in warranty, case was assessed by a senior tech and customer relations. I was sent a brand new Sonos Beam by them while the old one was returned to them.

I expected that level of service from Peter Tyson but I didn't get it. Just be careful of the guarantee etc, if you get off eBay or Amazon. I don't think I'd recommend them to anyone or shop with them purely on the basis of what happened to me.

UPDATE: 13/07/2022- I appreciate the reply back but I very much doubt it would have been the same outcome, even with the fault confirmed by them you refused to do anything until I sent it back first. You clearly stated it would be returned to me after 40 hours if no fault was displayed. You had proof Sonos confirmed it as faulty. If anyone wants decent after sales then avoid Peter Tyson.

Fast and friendly - delivered to Jersey
Bought some quite large speakers. I live in Jersey - which can result in delivery problems. No problems here: All kit delivered direct to my home in a couple of days - with VAT refunded. Great and friendly service too.

Great Customer Service
Purchased an ‘out of box’ hi-if unit and a pair of price matched speakers. Delivered next day as promised but had a problem with the unit. One call next day and sorted in 10 minutes and a new unit arrived the following day and no problems at all with it. When things go wrong that’s when a good company comes good and Peter Tyson certainly did. Crackin price and great customer service.

Outstanding customer service
Outstanding customer service. My order hit some stock issues, but they went out of their way to accommodate me, offering to reserve the item without payment or deposit, with the option to cancel at any time. Really great communication and a pleasure to buy from.

Quite honestly this was one of the best…
Quite honestly this was one of the best Customer Service experiences I have ever had! Ordered a pair of floor standing speakers on Monday, and was installing them in my living room at 12 midday Thursday. This is made all the more amazing, as we live in the Channel Islands, where delivery times and Customs can cause all sorts of stress. Having placed the order I realised that I had omitted to highlight that we are VAT exempt, so I sent an e-mail to see if this could be rectified and received a totally positive response within 2 minutes. All in all, I can find no fault whatsoever with the service and product, and would have absolutely no hesitation in both recommending Peter Tyson to others, and also using them for future purchases........brilliant!

Absolutely a nice place to buy audio…
Absolutely a nice place to buy audio products. Customer service is very nice. I bought a Denon AVR-2700 AV receiver and it got delivered the next day for free. I then tried to buy some Dali speakers but realised there was a deal when buying with the Denon AV receiver. The team offered me the deal by taking the AV receiver off the deal price. Products are very nice quality and delivered again next day. Would definitely use again.

Wow….what can I say
Wow….what can I say the level of customer service by Dan On the shop floor and Dan in service in Carlisle was simply outstanding going above and beyond to help when our local Argos would not accept delivery of my item.
Within 24hours these guys have sorted a refund and re directed the item to be delivered tomorrow to my work place .Amazing job very impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to use Peter Tyson Carlisle again

Absolutely awesome
I ordered a Naim Mu-So system and the price was very competitive and included a free colour grill. Next day delivery was spot on and a massive thanks to Alex in customer service. I would certainly recommend this organisation for any AV purchases as there customer service is outstanding. Thanks for a great experience and nice to see a company who still cares about their customers over profit.
